Jennifer is a passionate recorder teacher with over twenty years of experience teaching private lessons, coaching small ensembles, and teaching workshops. She is available to teach private lessons from her home in Colorado Springs, CO or online through Zoom or other video apps.  All ages and levels are welcome!

 

Jennifer has been an instructor at both the summer and fall Texas Toot (TX), San Francisco Early Music Society Recorder Workshop (CA), Amherst Early Music's Virtual Workshops (MA), Dallas Recorder Society Workshop (TX), Austin Recorder Society Workshop (TX), Hidden Valley Institute and Next Level Workshop (CA), Orange County Recorder Workshop (CA), Las Cruces Recorder Society Workshop (NM), Los Alamos and Santa Fe Recorder Society Workshop (NM), Rocky Workshop (CO) Boulder Recorder Society Workshop (CO), Denver Recorder Society (CO), Ft. Collins Recorder Society (CO), Colorado Recorder Orchestra Workshop (CO), and Phoenix/Prescott Recorder Society Workshop (AZ).

 

2020 was a difficult year for in-person workshops. Jennifer worked to design topics and classes that work well in a virtual format. She taught several classes for the San Francisco Early Music Society, Amherst Early Music, and the Texas Toot in place of their regularly scheduled workshops. Jennifer continues to schedule and teach a series of virtual beginners' and 2nd-Level courses for the American Recorder Society.

 

Getting together virtually became a wonderful way to meet and play with other recorder players. She continues to teach virtual ARS Chapter sessions for groups across the country and Canada and with the North American Virtual Recorder Society. 

 

PRIVATE LESSONS and ENSEMBLE COACHING

Either in her private home studio in Colorado Springs or online, Jennifer enjoys interacting with her students as they find success in tackling recorder technique and creating moments of musical delight. She is willing to work around her students' busy lives and schedule lessons on a weekly, bi-monthly, or even monthly basis.  Now is the perfect time to schedule a lesson and discover the joy of playing recorders!

WORKSHOPS

Jennifer takes great pride in creating dynamic and interactive classes for the workshops she teaches. She strives to find balance between exploring a set of repertoire, both old and new, introducing and reinforcing recorder and ensemble techniques, and having fun! She is willing to travel across the United States (and beyond!) to teach workshops.
