Duets are some of the best pedagogical tools for strengthening your recorder-playing skills! If you are new to playing with others, still shaky with keeping the beat, unfamiliar with counting the half note as getting the beat (hello, Renaissance music!), and still getting used to the sound of others playing around you, then this course is for you. Designed for advanced beginners/low intermediate players on soprano, alto, and tenor recorders (if you have taken the ARS Beginners’ Class and 2nd-Level Class, then you are ready for this course), this 3-part course will help you with developing your counting skills, your listening skills, and prepare you to play with your local ARS chapters and affable recorder-playing friends! All music/materials will be provided.
Course Fee: $75
Course Dates: Aug 17, 24, 31 at 8 - 9 PM, ET
Week 1: Counting and listening to the other part.
Week 2: Music in imitation - and we’re still listening!
Week 3: Renaissance music - the half note gets the beat!
